Frozen Cranberry Salad

1/2 cup sugar
1 3-oz. pkg. cream cheese
1 cup crushed pineapple, drained
1 cup cranberry sauce w/whole cranberries
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 small carton whipping cream, whipped
Cream sugar and cream cheese. Add pineapple, cranberry sauce and pecans. Fold mixture into whipped cream. Freeze until set. Let set at room temperature 5 - 10 minutes before cutting into squares for serving.

Frosty Fruit Salad

Sounds bad -- looks O.K. -- tastes unbelievably good!
2 cups sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 quart (4 cups) buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla
20 ounces crushed pineapple, drained
17 ounces fruit cocktail, drained
Combine first four ingredients until well blended. Gently stir in drained fruit. Pour into 9" square dish and freeze. Remove from freezer 10 - 15 minutes before cutting sections to serve.
